VILLAINS IN VAIN
Villains In Vain is a metalcore band based in Eugene, Oregon. VIV is metal community oriented, although few bands in their immediate neighborhood resemble them. While joining the ranks of metal bands before them, VIV sets themselves apart from the PNW thrash and stoner metal traditions by highlighting hardcore drum beats paired with pedal point guitar riffs.
VIV began after DJ Luther (vocals) and Cameron Octon (guitar) met at the height of the 2020 COVID pandemic on SeekingArrangement. Together in an effort to recruit the remaining necessary members, the duo released a cover of Seal’s “Kiss From A Rose” in April 2021, which attracted the interest of Justin Eden (bass). In the following September, Trevor Richardson (drums) joined, completing the band’s original lineup after the release of their first original song, “Shadow in the Light."
NOCTERIS
Nocteris is a symphonic metal band from Portland, Oregon, blending cinematic darkness with raw intensity.
Formed in 2024, the band is fronted by powerhouse vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Samantha Russell (Thirsting Altar, Vela Pulsar), alongside thunderous drummer Victor A. Camarena (I Am Ghost, Incarpathia) and guitarist/orchestrator Matt Bellmore (Terminal Dusk).
Influenced by Dimmu Borgir, Death, Nightwish, and Emperor, Nocteris crafts music that is heavy, theatrical, and emotionally charged, channeling darkness with precision and purpose.
Throughout 2025, the band released a relentless run of singles—“Medusa (Crowed in Flame),” “The Void Beyond,” “Fleshbound Devotion,” “Echoes of Rebirth,” and “Neither Human Nor Beast”—showcasing the full scope of their sonic vision. They also unveiled a dark, symphonic reimagining of Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” transforming the pop anthem into a punishing metal and orchestral descent.
With a steady stream of releases and an uncompromising creative vision, Nocteris continues to emerge as a rising force in extreme metal, pushing genre boundaries while maintaining cinematic ferocity.
HARBINGER'S REMAINS
Harbinger’s Remains bring epic allegories of cosmological diplomacy, capitalist realism, and inevitable decay. Their dulcet strings combine with sinister vocals and fell rhythms to coalesce into a chthonic avalanche of melodic death metal.
