Jade Ox & Brain Stem Present: Method of Doubt

METHOD OF DOUBT
Method of Doubt is a melodic hardcore band originally from Broward County, Florida. Formed in 2018, the band's name was inspired by René Descartes' philosophical meditations, reflecting their lyrical focus on questioning the issues of life and social norms. The band is known for blending aggressive hardcore parts with driving, sincere melodies. Their sound is often compared to late-1980s Dischord Records bands like Swiz and Supertouch, as well as contemporaries like Mil-Spec. Critics have praised them for making classic melodic hardcore feel immediate and new.

SLOW FIRE PISTOL
Slow Fire Pistol is an Atlanta-based hardcore/screamo band formed in 2016. The quartet is known for a sound that blends aggressive, visceral noise with melodic, pensive passages, drawing inspiration from first-wave screamo and hardcore punk. The band features members from other notable heavy acts like Foundation and Dead in the Dirt. Their music often shifts between stormy, unrelenting drums and raw, distorted guitar tones paired with a mix of spoken and harsh vocals.

APEX PREDATOR
Apex Predator is a metallic hardcore band based in Federal Way, Washington, heavily active in the Seattle music scene. Fronted by Casey Shaw—a veteran of the Northwest hardcore (NWHC) community who has also performed with GAG and Odd Man Out—the band is known for a vicious, "savage" sound reminiscent of old-school hardcore with heavy, anthemic breakdowns. The band specializes in a "vicious strain" of metallic hardcore characterized by relentless guitars and aggressive vocals. Their lyrics often touch on dark or direct themes, such as the track "Intruding Thoughts," which addresses OCD-related experiences
