CONVERGE
Converge is a pioneering American metalcore band formed in 1990 in Salem, Massachusetts by vocalist Jacob Bannon and guitarist Kurt Ballou. They are widely celebrated as one of the most influential and innovative forces in heavy music, blending hardcore punk, extreme metal, and mathcore. The group is famous for its complex song structures, abrasive dissonance, and intense emotional delivery. Their 2001 album Jane Doe is universally regarded as a landmark masterpiece that redefined modern metalcore and mathcore. Most of their records are tracked and mixed by Ballou at his famous GodCity Studio in Salem, giving the band an incredibly precise, punishing sonic identity.
