Convergence
The sound of progressive power metal act Convergence are what people are thirsty for. Why else would Convergence amass over twenty thousand views of their first release “Fight Another Day” video within a couple weeks and also have a track record of opening for national touring acts like Stabbing Westward, Sonata Arctica, Otep and Evergrey?

A breath of fresh air in the Seattle scene that scratches an itch for those who desire music and live performance that is dynamic, melodic, memorable and hard hitting; Convergence is the perfect merge and resonance of down-tuned aggression, empyreal keyboards, thundering drums and captivating vocals.

Guitarist Richard Chambliss is known regionally for his adept skill on 7-string guitars and epic solos inspired by guitarists like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. Restless and driven, Richard formed Convergence to challenge his playing and song writing in ways that he never before had experienced. Richard plays with relentless precision and draws on decades of experience in live performance with bands that he has co-founded with his brother Clif Chambliss such as dark horse progressive metal acts Chiaroscuro and Dread Effect.

Drummer Tony DelVecchio drives Convergence with atomic accuracy. Tony has played in various progressive rock and metal acts for years and is known to spend half of his night at Convergence shows setting up and then tearing down his super sized kit after blasting the audience into sonic ecstasy. Convergence bassist Clif Chambliss likes to refer to Tony as a “rhythmic jungle gym” with whom to sonically explore and play upon Tony’s limber and refined cadences.

Vocalist Jeff Stark has enough energy, passion and talent to front different acts including Convergence. His dynamic vocal style is in demand as he frequently flies down to California to headline as the front man with grunge legends Malfunkshun who are signed to Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson’s label “EMP label group.” Jeff is an energizing front man who not only brandishes his signature powerful singing but whips up the crowd into a unison of fist pumping and shouting. Jeff also studied under renowned vocal instructor Pamela Moore who is best known for her guest vocals on Queensryche’s epic “Suite Sister Mary.”

Keyboardist Andy Mayor is a band veteran of working with the Chambliss brothers in former bands such as Dread Effect and a solo duo project with Convergence bassist Clif Chambliss. Classically trained along with the Chambliss brothers since the age of 13 in various instruments in symphonic bands, Andy brings unique aural textures and melodies to Convergence’s sound and doubles as the band’s second soloist.

Bassist Clif Chambliss, who is the twin of Convergence guitarist Richard Chambliss, holds down the low end of the ”wall of metal” that these brothers have been known to create. Clif is an aggressive and versatile bassist who doesn’t hold back when an opportunity to bring the bass up front presents itself. Clif also won an international bass solo competition and has played in various studio and live band projects over the years.

Convergence is currently finishing recording
of their initial material while working on new heights of dynamic composition for 2018. Expect to see Convergence opening up for more national acts on the months to come!
