This 4-piece heavy metal act coming from the Oregon Coast/Portland are bringing a refreshing blend of melodies and brutality to the music scene. With talented members and a professional attitude, these young gentlemen mean business. They have backed up their reputation for explosive live shows with the powerful debut E.P. "Totem", independently released on 7/7/2015.
No Plug
Inspired by a diverse wave of new music from the progressive mind of Ben Haggerty (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis) to the raw, unforgiving lyrical ambitiousness of Billy Joe Armstrong, Portland, OR based multi-instrumentalist Austin Frost presents No Plug. No Plug points to Austin’s acerbic attitude which collides inclusively with a sanguine outlook on his past, present, and future life. Austin discovered that music could have dramatic effects in someone’s life when he learned how to use it to cope with his experiences growing up.
Deep synthesizers and heavy guitarwork has become signature in No Plug’s sound, and is accompanied by a voice greatly influenced by 2000’s pop rock artists. “I really want to use this as an outlet for topics that are too politically charged for everyday conversation, but too important to ignore.” Austin notes about No Plug. “Actually, that is how songs like Anchors were able to come out. Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up in the emotion of what you experience, that it is hard to comprehend what really happens from an unbiased perspective.”
Being involved with fellow local artists has been vital to the success and development of this project, and with no indication of slowing, No Plug’s intention is to engage the entire Northwest with innovative ideas. No Plug is very active in the community and can be found performing in shows all around the Portland metro area.
